Cornell, died at 9 o’clock this morning. The news was a great shock to our citizens, most of whom had not heard of her sickness. Her age was 60, and she had been almost a life resident of this city. She was the niece and adopted daughter of the late Don Jones. Her maiden name was Stanley. She was a woman devoted to her family, but whose sympathies extended beyond and she was affectionately regarded by a wide circle of friends. The husband and four children survive: Stanley; Florence, wife of Ed. G. Emmett, who recently moved to Salem, Oregon; Fred and Lillian. It had only been known about 24 hours that her condition was so critical. Mrs. Emmett telegraphed that she was unable to come. Stanley, who is located at St. Ignace, reached here this morning. Even then it was not supposed the final hour was so near, and it was thought best to notify his mother of this arrival; when it was suddenly apparent that she was nearly gone, and he was hastily summoned; but she was already unconscious and lived but a few moments. The funeral service will be held at the home, 128 Lytle street, on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment, Oak Hill.
