The funeral service for Mary A., beloved wife of Robert Corner, was conducted at the M. E. church, on Sunday afternoon, and was made a most impressive ceremonial, by Rev. W. H. B. Urch, the officiating clergyman. The attendance was quite large, many members of the Knights of the Maccabees and Ladies of the Maccabees being present. The singing was entirely congregational, the beautiful and the familiar hymns, "Jesus lover of my soul," and "Nearer my God to thee," being rendered respectively before and after the discourse. Mrs. Corner was a highly esteemed member of Ruggles hive of the L. O. T. M. The bearers were selected from the sir knights of Wabasis tent, K. O. T. M., of which Mr. Corner is an active member as follows; E. A. Murphy, Fred Cutler, Jr., Henry Witzel, A. A. Aniba, Harry Jennings, William Marquette. The maiden name of deceased was Mary A. Hornby. She was a native of New York state, and at time of death was aged 41 years and 7 months. She was married to Mr. Corner in Claire county Michigan. They have been residents of Ionia seven years. Interment was in Highland Park.
