She was born May 1, 1907 in Middleton to Wilbur and Emma (Vroman) Wineland. She married Clyde A. Coryell on April 4, 1931 in Gratiot County. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1926. She belonged to the Carson City Utility club and the Farm Bureau. She attended the United Methodist Church in Carson City. Velma is survived by son, Kenneth and Norma Coryell of Ionia; daughter Evelyn and David Hall of Brooklyn, Mich.; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; sister Neva Wineland of Farmington Hills, Doris Helfer of Superior, Colorado, Arlene Shinabarger of Greenville, and Dorothy and Gene Hromadka of Naples, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Emma Wineland; husband Clyde A. Coryell; twin sister, Thelma Wineland; sister Margaret Marcy; brother, Lyle Ray Wineland. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City with Rev. Ken Nash officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Carson City Cemetery, Carson City.
