The Belding Banner, Thursday, June 3, 1909

Last Saturday morning the last spark of life left the emaciated form of poor 
Urban Coss who has suffered so long with the dreaded disease, tuberculosis, 
and the spirit winged its flight to other lands.  The funeral was held at the 
home of Chas. Sherwood on Tuesday, Rev. G. W. Maxwell officiating and loving 
hands bore the remains to River Ridge cemetery where they were laid to rest.

Urban P. Coss was born at North Star, Mich. March 2, 1885, came to this city 
about six years ago and was married to Miss Hazel Sherwood September 25, 
1905.  About two years ago he began to show signs of tuberculosis and 
everything was done that could be to stay the ravages of the disease, but all 
efforts were vain and he passed away Saturday, May 29, at the age of 24 yrs., 
2 mo. 27 days.  He leaves besides the young wife, a father, four brothers and 
two sisters who mourn his early death.  The snow white casket was latterly 
buried beneath the floral offerings, many of which were donated by the silk 
mill friends of Mr. and Mrs. Coss.

assistance during the long illness and final end of our beloved Urban we
