Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 & 18 Apr 1957

Mrs. Nellie M. Costello, 77, of 108 VanderHeyden court, died Sunday morning at
6:26, at the Ionia County Memorial hospital, where she was admitted Saturday. 
Born April 16, 1879 in Parnell, Kent county, she had been a resident of Ionia
county for the past 50 years.  She was married to P.J. Costello, November 20
1900 and he died January 30 1945.  Mrs. Costello was a member of SS Peter and
Paul Catholic church and the Rosary society.

Surviving are four children, Joseph at home, Melvin of Kalamazoo, Leo of Ionia
and a daughter, Margaret Quigg of Trufant; two sisters, Mrs. Dan Quillan of
Grand Rapids and Mrs. William Harris of Rivera, Calif.; three grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are being received at the residence, 108 Vander Heyden
court until time of services which will take place Wednesday morning at 9
o’clock at SS. Peter and Paul church.  Rosary will be said Tuesday evening at
7:30 at the residence.  Arrangements are in care of the Phelps funeral chapel.

Requiem High mass for Mrs. Nellie M. Costello, 77, who died Sunday at the Ionia
County Memorial hospital, was preceded by a prayer service at the residence at
Vander Heyden court.  The Rev. Fr. John S. Fons sang the Requiem High Mass at 9
a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, where services for Mrs.
Costello were conducted.  Interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery, with Phelps
funeral chapel in charge.  Bearers were Harry Snellgrove, Joseph Supina Jr.,
Edward Kilduff, Ronald North, Arthur Neustifter and Con Sullivan.

Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. H. Alberts, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Bowler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan O’Connor, Mrs. Margaret Meade and Mrs.
Martin Shannon of Belding, Ted Burt and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Malone of Greenville,
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Costello and son of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Costello and
family of Birch Run, Mr. and Mrs. George Malone and Ed Malone of Parnell, Mrs.
Byron Potter of Lowell and Howard Norcutt, Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson and Mrs. Dora
Norcutt of Clarksville.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Quillan, Frank Quillan, Lester Quillan, Mrs. Margaret Dudick,
Joseph Dudick, Mrs. Raymond Dumont and daughter, Mrs. Richard Behloda and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Malone, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malone, Mr. and Mrs.
C.J. Sullivan, Mrs. Margaret Byrne, Mr. and Mrs. William Hendercht, Mrs. Ella
Zahm and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zahm of Grand Rapids.
