Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 Nov 1977

James R. Cotter, 93, of 255 East Main street, Pewamo, died Monday at Ionia
County Memorial hospital.  He was born June 9, 1884 in Pewamo, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. James Cotter and was a retired Pewamo merchant.  

He married his wife Veronica February 25, 1919 in Pewamo.  She survives.  Also
surviving are two sons, James and John of Pewamo and several grandchildren.

Services are Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s church in Pewamo with Monsignor
Thomas Bolger officiating.  Rosary will be recited Tuesday and Wednesday at 3
and 8 p.m. in St. Mary’s chapel in Westphalia.  Burial is in St. Joseph’s
cemetery.  Bearers are Michael, James and Jack Cotter, Robert Alton, sr., Robert
Alton, jr. and Rod Alton.  Arrangements by Neller funeral home.
