Elwyne L. Cotton, 83, of Ionia passed away March 10, 2013 in Lowell. He was 
born Aug. 24, 1929 in Paw Paw, Mich., the son of Percy J. and Amanth (Manning) 
Cotton. He married Ruth Clark, March 30, 1974 in Ionia. She preceded him in 
death June 5, 2011.

Elwyne retired from General Motors in 1985 where he worked after leaving the 
farm. He loved his yard and his John Deere Tractors.

Elwyne is survived by his brother, Orville (Ann) Cotton; sister, Justine 
(James) Francis; nieces and nephews. Step family; daughter, Gayle (Ken) 
Ritenburgh, daughter-in-law, Barbara Clark and several grandchildren, great 
grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepson, Richard Clark and 
sister, Martha.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Lake Funeral Home 
of Ionia. Memorial contributions may be made in Elwyne’s name to Hospice of 
Michigan or Alzheimer’s Foundation. Online condolences may be made at
