Cottrell, 72, died at her home in Lyons Wednesday evening after being seriously ill for the past two weeks. She had been in poor health for several years. She was born August 10, 1878, in Ionia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Altenburg. She was married March 26, 1908, to Eugene Cottrell. She lived almost all her life in Ionia county, with the past six years spent in Lyons. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Dennie of Palo and Mrs. Louise Douglas of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Hi I. Miller and Herbert Miller of Ionia; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five brothers, George Altenburg of Old Mission, Virgil of Alma, Quinn of Brown City, Jesse of Lansing and Clarence of Detroit; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Cook of Lansing, Mrs. Ella Mosser of Perrinton and Mrs. Addie Hamblin of Shepherd. A son, Quinn, died many years ago. Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral home Saturday at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Myron Hoyt officiating. Interment will be in Saranac cemetery.
