She was born on June 13, 1914 in Belding, the daughter of Clarence E. and Anna Perry Cottrell. Mildred was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Kate Shannon Fellowship and was an honorably member of the Ladies Literary Club of Belding. She was active in the PTA of Belding, was a den mother for many years and served 35 years as secretary for the Women’s International Bowling Congress. She and her husband Roger were counselors at the Disciples of Christ Christian Church Camp in Frankfurt for several years. She enjoyed car travel and was known as the neighborhood fix-it lady in Belding. Mildred was married on June 30, 1935 in Kalamazoo to Roger J. Wright and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2002. She was also preceded by her parents, one son, Orlo George Wright, one granddaughter, Karen Gee, and four brothers, Floyd, Leslie, Wesley and Clifford. Mildred is survived by her children, Iloann and Joe Gee of Ionia, Paul Wright of Grand Rapids, and Jonathan and Joanne Wright of Cedar Springs. Mildred is also survived by her grandchildren, Mary Burns of Saranac, Kevin and Jodie Gee of Grand Rapids, Beverly Gee and fiancé Patrick Slager of Belding, her great- grandchildren Billy Burns V of Belding, Wyatt Gee of Grand Rapids, Caleb Slager of Belding, her sister Marion Barry of Auburn, Kentucky, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church in Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Graveside services will follow at River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the First congregational Church or the YABA Bowling Fund of Belding.
