William Kirby officiating. Bearers were Leslie Cottrell, Clifford Cottrell, Joe Denny, Dale Sage, Sylvester Wells and Walter Chaffin. Prior to Mrs. Cottrell’s death five generations of the family were living. Surviving her are seven children, Henry of Mt. Pleasant, Eugene of Lyons, Clarence of Belding, John of Ionia, Mrs. Arthur LaDue of Dearborn, Mrs. Eunice Champlain of Coral and Mrs. Jenny Handy of Belding; 24 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cottrell was born April 25?, 1852, in Albion, N.Y., the daughter of Thomas and Jane Frost. She was married to William Cottrell in New York and they moved to Michigan homesteading land near Mt. Pleasant in 1896. Mr. Cottrell died in 1926 and Mrs. Cottrell made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Handy and Mrs. LaDue. Five years ago she fell and broke her hip and was a semi-invalid from that time until her death.
