Coulson, 63, of 468 State Street, Ionia, died Sunday in Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Ionia, he was the son of Fred and Lillian Miller Coulson. He was married on May 17, 1947, in Angola, Ind., to Dorothy Fitzgerald. A veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II, he was employed at Fisher Body, Lansing, for 23 years, prior to his retirement in 1968. He was a life member of the Ionia Moose Lodge. Surviving are: his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Michael and Fred of Colorado and John of Ionia; three daughters, Linda Daniels, Lori Gustafson and Deborah Dangerfield, all of Ionia; eight grandchildren; one brother, LaVern, of Saranac; and two sisters, Arlene Edmonds of Belding and Velma Ludwick of Ionia. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Roetman Funeral Home, with the Revs. Thomas Bolster of Ionia and Gerald Johnson of Belding officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial for the Butterworth Hospital Neo-Natal Unit has been established, in care of the funeral home.
