He was born July 31, 1935 in Ionia the son of John H. and Teresa M.(Zanto) Coulson, Bob married Karen Peterson on December 26, 1958 at SS.Peter & Paul Catholic Church.He served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany from 1958-1960. Bob worked for the State of Michigan as a Correction Officer, first at the Michigan Reformatory on the farm and later moved to transportation at riverside Correctional facility working for 28 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St.Anthony's Catholic Church, SS.Peter & Paul Catholic Church,Knights of Columbus and a life time member of the Boston Saranac Historical Society. Bob drove bus for Saranac Schools, volunteered as a Little League Coach and chain gang for football games.He was proud to have donated over 2 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. Bob enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska and Panama and enjoyed 30 winter in Haines City, Florida. He was an avid Tiger's fan and especially enjoyed watching his own children and grandchildren play sports. Surviving bob are his children; Chris (Tami) Coulson of Saranac, Craig (Maureen) Coulson of Grand Rapids and Kim Coulson of Ionia. Grandchildren; Amanda (Bryan) Stratton,Kelli (Jeff) Moore, Chad (Jennah) Coulson,Kaleigh Coulson, Matt (Lauren) Coulson & Nick Coulson. great-grandchildren: Kennidy, Collin, Rhett, Maebry, Charlotte & Theo. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen & sister Mary Lou Coulson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Anthony's Catholic Church in Saranac, Monday August 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with father Michael Goodwin presiding. Visitation 1 hour prior to services at the Church. Services will be live streamed on Lake Funeral Homes facebook page & will be ongoing available. Those wishing may made Memorial Contributions to St.Anthony's Catholic Church, Saranac Fire Department, Boston Saranac Historical Society or charity of your choice.
