Born in Berlin township August 26, 1890, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coulson and lived most of his life on Peck Lake road, route 4. He moved to Ionia in 1942. He was a veteran of World War I and an employe at Ionia State hospital as power house engineer retiring August of 1960. He was married October of 1919 to Lillian Miller who died in 1953. Surviving are two sons, Lewis of Ionia and LaVern of Saranac; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Edmonds of Belding and Mrs. Velma Ludwick of Ionia; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, John of route 4; four sisters, Mrs. Theodore Fox of Lansing, Mrs. Roy Witzel of Ionia, Mrs. Donald Tuttle rural Ionia and Margaret Coulson of route 4. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home with interment at Balcom cemetery.
