Coursen, 71, died Monday morning in Pine Rest sanatorium, Grand Rapids following an illness of several years. He was born in Pennsylvania March 3, 1872. He resided in Grand Rapids for many years before moving to Saranac six years ago. He is survived by his wife, Kate; a son, Clyde of Coopersville; three daughters, Mrs. William Phillips of Doster, Mrs. Floyd McCullough of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Lloyd Shreve of Lansing; three step-sons, Dr. W. W. Dickerson of Caro, Frank Dickerson of Holly and Edmund Dickerson of Royal Oak; eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris funeral home in Saranac. Rev. J. W. Stanton of Freesoil will officiate and burial services will be held Monday in Copemish.
