Ionia Sentinel Standard, Jun 1996

H. Dale Courser, 98, of Clarksville died early Friday morning, June 14, 1996 at
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born Feb. 15, 1898 in Orange Twp.
in Ionia County, the son of Herbert and Elizabeth Fredericks Courser.  He
attended Kilmartin School and lived and worked the family farm on Portland Road
until 1974.  He also worked for Ypsilanti-Reed Co. for 13 years.  After selling
the farm he lived at Lake Six near Remus, and he and his wife wintered in
Florida at Palm Harbor for 25 years.

He married Ruth Evelyn Friend Oct 1, 1922, and she preceded him in death on Jan.
7, 1981.  He was a member of LeValley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Marjorie (John) Benedict of Lake Odessa and
Lucy Noreen (David) Stolt of Petoskey; one son Eugene (Clarabelle) Courser of
Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Friend of T. City; and
several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife,
Ruth, one brother, Ernest, and one sister, Anna May.

Funeral and committal services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cook Funeral
Home in Ionia.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens and visitation will
be today from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the LeValley United Methodist Church.
