Courser, 88, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Belding, passed away Thursday evening, July 13, 2006, at Eaton Community Hospice, Charlotte. Virginia was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Fremont, the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn Hartwell Westover. She married Charles M. Courser on June 26, 1941, in Grand Rapids. Virginia and Charles owned and operated the former Courser Funeral Home in Belding (now Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home). Virginia was a member of the Congregational Church in Belding and a former member of the Belding Thimble Club and the Literary Club of Belding. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on June 2, 1993; her parents; brother, Ted Westover; and two sisters, Leota Johnson and Carol Draime. She is survived by daughter, Julie Westerling of Wyoming; son Charles B. Courser of Eaton Rapids; two grandchildren, Bryan Olsen, Kasey Courser; and two great-grandchildren, Katie Olsen, Alyssa Olsen. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger, of Shiloh Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Clear Lake Cemetery. A visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Eaton Community Hospice.
