ALICE MARIE COURTER
Alice Marie Courter, age 85 of Saranac, passed away Jan. 29, 2016 in Saranac. She
was born Feb. 15, 1930 in Easton Twp., Michigan, the daughter of James and Marian 
(Klingensmith) Grummett.

Alice married Richard Courter Feb. 14, 1947. He passed away Dec. 24, 1968.

She used to sell Avon in the Saranac area for many years and was a member of Easton
United Methodist Church.

Alice is survived by her chillen, Richard "Red"(Patricia) Courter of Belding, Yvonne
(Fred) Chivis Jr. of Grandville David (Marlene) Courter of Saranac, Dale Courter of Saranac
and Russell Courter of Saranac; brother Don Grummett of Saranac; sister, Donna Battle of
Greenville; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Lois Solomon, Thelma
Rowley and Leora Erb.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday feb. 9, 11 a.m. at Easton United Methodist
church with Pastor Donna Sperry officiating.

Visitation will be Monday 2-5 PM at Lake funeral Home in Saranac. memorial
contributions may be made to Ionia Area Hospice.
