Ionia Sentinel Standard-Thursday April 19, 1973

                                W.FRED COURTER

W.Fred Courter, 93, died at his home in Eustis, Fla., Wednesday morning.

Born in the vicinity of Saranac, September 2, 1879, he was the son of Mr.and 
Mrs.William Courter.

He was a farmer in Keene township later moving to Ionia where he resided a 
number of years, traveling and selling fertilizer and novelties. He later 
retired and moved to Florida where he lived the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma, in 1957, brother Walter 
Courter and sister, Mrs.Lillian Morrison.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs.Nola Adgate Courter, whom he married in 1963; a 
brother, Paul Courter of Ionia; three stepsons, Rodney Adgate of Ionia, Brenton 
Adgate of Lake Odessa and Bruce Adgate of Landcaster, N.Y.

Cremation was at Orlando, Fla., and the remains brought here for placement in 
the family lot at Saranac Cemetery.
