The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, May 6, 1957
Mrs. Emma Courter, 81, formerly of Ionia, died Friday, May 3 in Arcadia, 
Florida.  Mrs. Courter was born March 29, 1876 in Berlin township.  She went 
to Florida four years ago from Ionia.  She had made her home in Ionia county 
until she moved to Florida.  Surviving is her husband, Fred Courter, of Mt. 
Dora, Florida.  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 
at the Morris funeral home in Saranac with the Rev. Glenn McCarty 
officiating.  Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.  Friends and relatives are 
being received at the Morris funeral home where the remains arrived Sunday 
night.
