   Excerpts from Saranac Obituary

     DAVID WILLIAM COURTER

Died Friday, October 24, 2025-age 74 of Saranac.
Born January 21, 1953 in Ionia, son of Richard & Alice (Grummet) Courter.
Graduated from Saranac High School with Class of 1970.
Married Marlene Smith on June 2, 1973. Together they raised 4 children, Shannon, 
Stacy, Sara & Bradley.
Dave worked in skilled maintenance, for Lacks industries & TRW where he retired 
in 2007.
He enjoyed fishing in Canada, time in his cabin on the Grand River & traveling 
to Mexico in January weather.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene Courter of Saranac, children; Shannon 
(Amy Rusnell) Courter of Ionia, Stacy (Drew Engen) Fisher of Saranac, Sara 
(Brandon) Bowen of Saranac, & Bradley (Amber) Courter of Saranac.
Grandchildren: Brenton Fishe, Brooklyn Fisher, Klae (Jimmy Bolanowski) Courter,, 
McKenzie (Kobe) Kazamer, Montanna (Devon) Burnell, Kaleb Courter, Garrett (Aaron 
Kietzman Bowen, McKylee Huff,Cameron Cook & Kaden Courter.
Great-grandchildren; Adelyn & Maverick McBain, Olivia & Zoe Fisher, Zion 
Courter, Braxton Burnell & Hudson Bolanowski.
Siblings;Richard (Pat) Courter, Yvonne Chivis, Dale Courter & Russell COurter,
Brother & sister-in-law; Norma Martin, Alvin (Anne) Smith, Brenda Spicer, Marty 
(Carrie) Smith & Christine Corner.
Special nephew,& David Barthosh.
Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Artie & Clara Smith, brother-in-law 
Ron Martin & Fred Chivis.
Funeral services for Dave will be on Thursday, October 30 at 11:00am with Jason 
& Stephanie Smith officiating at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
Interment at Saranac Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
May make Memorial contributions to West Michigan Hospice.
