Ionia County News, 2 Sep 1926

Mrs. Carrie Courter, 68, prominent resident of Saranac died at her home at
Saranac last Wednesday, following a brief illness of cancer.  She was a devout
member of the Congregational church and the Rebekahs.  The funeral will be held
on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the late home with Rev. W.L. Halladay in
charge and interment will take place in Saranac cemetery.  The Rebekahs will
also take part.  She is survived by four children, Fred and Paul of Ionia, Mrs.
John Morrison of Berlin, Walter of Saranac; four sisters, Mrs. Milton Benson and
Mrs. Lottie Brown, both of Saranac, Mrs. Hattie Miner of Clarksville, and Mrs.
Frank Bretz of Lake Odessa; three brothers, Otis Whitby, Saranac, William of
Clarksville, and Jack of Illinois.
