He was born Jan. 29, 1904, in Orange Township, the son of Bert and Rosa Jackson Courtnay. He graduated from Portland High School in 1924, and was married to Iva White. Mr. Courtnay was a farmer and truck driver prior to becoming employed by the Keeler Brass Manufacturing Company in Lake Odessa in 1950. He retired from there in 1973. He was a member of the Calvary United Brethren Church in Lake Odessa and the Leesburg Christian and Missionary Alliance in Leesburg, Fla. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Johnie (Carol Ann) Hicks of Afton, Okla., Mrs. Jimmie (Marilyn) Olinske of Pleasant Lake, Ind., and Mrs. Carl (Beverly) Price of Caledonia; a brother, Stan, of Lake Odessa; a sister, Mrs. George (Anna) Lulak of Encino, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
