Portland Observer, 19 Jul 1934

Charles Courtney, the 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Courtney, died at 
the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor Monday evening.  He had been a 
patient in the hospital for several weeks suffering from a heart ailment.  
Besides his parents he leaves four brothers and sisters at home and two married 
sisters, Mrs. Lois Demorey, formerly of Orange, and Mrs. Verna Robinson, of Ann 
Arbor.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the 
Congregational church in Lake Odessa.  Burial will be at Lake Odessa cemetery.
