Shirley was born on Aug. 14, 1942 in Detroit. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, NASCAR, woodworking and traveling. She retired from Michigan Department of Corrections and was a member of the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Shirley passed away at a young age but had a full life. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Richard Majinska. Surviving are her parents, Shirley Mae Nichols and Melvin Biang; children, Danielle (Ryan) Carigon, Terri (Eric) Carigon; two grandchildren, Leighton, and Danielle; six sisters, Elizabeth Majinska, Linda (Howard) Shearer, Rene Kerns, Deborah White, Caroline Biang and Nanette Biang. Come and share your memories with the family at the Lamplight Grill in downtown Ionia from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.
