Ionia Sentinel Standard, 9 Sep 2009

Marion Frances Courtney, age 88, of Six Lakes and formerly of Lyons and Ionia,
passed away Sept. 5, 2009.  She was born Jan. 30, 1921 in Erie, Penn., the
daughter of Walter and Helen (Severence) Himes.  She married Harold Leroy
Courtney in 1942.  He preceded her in death in 1977.  Marion was a member of
Lyons Methodist Church and was a beloved friend to many.

She is survived by her son David Allen Courtney (fiancé Melody Dodson) of Six
lakes; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchild.  Marion was preceded in death by three sisters, one
brother and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lyons-Muir Church with Rev.
Burt Nelson officiating.  Interment at Lyons Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements by
Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  the family will receive friends and relatives 12-1
p.m. prior to the service at the church.
