Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday July 31, 1947

Charles Courtney Died Sunday A.M.
Charles Courtney, 67, died at his home here in the village early Sunday morning. 
He was born January 8, 1880, in Orange township and had resided in this 
community his entire life moving to Lake Odessa several years ago when he 
purchased the Mrs.Carlton M. Campbell home on Tupper Lake Street.

Surviving are the widow, Anna; three sons, Richard at Sunfield and Phares and 
Fred in Lake Odessa; three sisters, Mrs.Theron McNeil of Portland; Mrs.Jeff 
Hitchcock at Ionia and Mrs.William Haas in Lake Odessa; a brother Fred at 
Saranac; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Pickens Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 2 with 
burial in Lakeside Cemetery. The Rev. Fay C.Wing of Woodland officiated.
