Hasting's Reminder - Saturday July 13, 2024

Carrie Jo (Brinkley)Courtney, age 64, of Hasting's, MI passed away peacefully on 
June 24,2024 with family and friends by her side.

Carrie was born February 13, 1960 in Lansing, MI to Joseph Brinkley and Shirley 
(Whiting)Brinkley. She grew up in the Detroit area until she moved to Lake 
Odessa in the early 1970s, where she graduated from Lakewood High School in 
1978.

She married Joe Courtney in January of 1980 and together they had two daughters. 
She worked for Amway from the age of 19 until her retirement in 2018, when she 
moved to Hastings.
 
Carrie was a lover of all animals, was an avid bowler in the 1990s, where she 
traveled often for state tournaments, True Crime court cases, and the show Big 
Brother.

Carrie is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Baxter of Hastings, Stacy 
(Justin) Miller of Sunfield; four grandchildren, Parker Guay, Alexis and Xavier 
Baxter, Keanan Miller; her four beloved cats, Izzy, Lily, Wiggles, Mrs Kitty and 
her ex-husband, Joe Courtney; several cousins, nieces, three half-siblings and 
friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents and her sister, Cindy Sue 
Rock.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be service.
