Bret “Rookie” Lee Courtney Lake Odessa.  Bret Lee Courtney, age 56, died in his
home Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.  Bret was born
September 1, 1958 in Hastings, the son of Warren and Peggy Courtney.  Bret was a
General Motors retiree.  Bret enjoyed playing golf, attending sporting events
and spending time with his family and friends.

Bret was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Courtney.  He is survived by his
wife, Elizabeth Courtney; son, Nicholas Courtney, daughter Emily Courtney;
father Warren (Marilyn) Cortney; two granddaughters, Rhylee, and Brenleigh and
his other grandchildren; and brothers, Richard and Joseph Courtney; nephew,
Dustin and nieces Jennifer Baxter, Stacy Miller and Cassidy Courtney.

A family and friends visitation was held Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 in Sunfield at
the Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, followed by a Memorial Service. 
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Rosier
Funeral Home, PO Box 36, Sunfield, MI 48890.  Interment was at the Sunfield
Cemetery.
