Cousinaw, 70, of Ionia, passed away Aug. 7, 2000 at Spectrum Health Downtown Campus in Grand Rapids. Harold Edward Cousinaw was born May 29, 1930 in Lapeer, the son of Joseph and Mary (Pickelman) Cousinaw. He grew up in Lapeer and graduated form Lapeer High School. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was married Dec. 28, 1951, in Belding, to Shirley Peters. Mr. Cousinaw was a self-employed metal finisher and loved working with his hands. He restored tractors and built his own home, and was recently a merchandiser for Meijers. Harold was a member of the Shiloh Community Church. Mr. Cousinaw is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley, three sons, Michael (Pauline) Cousinaw of Ionia, Steven (Debbie) Cousinaw of Ionia and Thomas “Bruno” (Lou Ann) Cousinaw of Sheridan; one sister, Betty (Stanley) Bieganowski of Capac; one brother-in-law, Melvin “Lanny” (Marcele) Peters Jr. of Cottonwood, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Paula (Tim) Letts, Rachel (Joel) Golden, Matthew Cousinaw, Manda Siesling, Bobbie Siesling, Dominque Cousinaw, Thomas Cousinaw Jr.; Kristen Cousinaw and Megan Cousinaw; five great- grandchildren, Tiffany, Joseph, McKenzie, Trenton and Hannah; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Harold E. Cousinaw will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, Ionia.
