Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Jan 1986

Irma L. Covert, 77, of Ionia died Saturday in the Ionia Manor.  She was born in
Kalkaska on July 11, 1908, the daughter of William and Della Ford Carroll.  She
graduated from Ionia High School in 1926 and from Central Michigan University in
1928, and was married to Lester Covert in 1929; he preceded her in death.

She was employed, from 1948 until her retirement in 1976, by the Ionia County
Farm Bureau as secretary and office manager.  She was a member of Easton United
Methodist Church and later a member of Zion United Methodist Church and was a
longtime member of Ionia County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley of Ionia and Gary of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter,
Mrs. Wayne (Carol) Roush of East Lansing; 11 grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Montgomery-Leddick Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Kay Williams officiating.  Burial will be in Easton
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.  A
memorial has been established for the Alzheimer’s Foundation, in care of the
funeral home.
