Ionia County News - Thursday, Marcy 6, 1947

Glenn L. Covert, 59, died in Pennock hospital, Hastings, Saturday. While enroute to

his farm southwest of town Thursday  afternoon his care and one driven by Joe 
Wheelock of Woodland township collided head on in the blinding snow storm. Mr. 
Wheelock received bruises and was badly shaken up but Mr. Covert received chest 
injuries which caused his death. Born September 28, 1887 in Carlton township he was

employed by the E.C. Tew and Sons here in the mens' furnishings department for 13 
years. Later he was a traveling salesman for several years before he opened his own

mens' clothing store here 10 years ago. Surviving are the widow, Jessie; a daughter,

Mrs. Elva Sawyer of Glenview, Ill., a brother, Martin of Holland and two grand 
children. Funeral service was held Wednesday with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
