She had been working at the Methodist refreshment stand at the fairground and had returned home to prepare more food for the stand when she became ill and died almost immediately. She was born September 20, 1889, in Woodland, the daughter of Robert and Hannah Wright. She had lived in Lake Odessa for the last 36 years. Her husband, Glenn, preceded her in death in 1947. She was a member of the Methodist church, W.S.C.S., and the Lake Odessa Woman’s Club. She was employed for many years a linotype operator by the Lake Odessa Wave and retired several years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Victor Sawyer, of Glenview, Illinois, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Wright of Washington, D. C., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Pickens funeral home with the Rev. Paul Robinson of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
