Physician Laid to Rest. The death of Palmer H. Coville occurred at eleven o’clock last Friday night at the Coville home on Broas street. For several weeks he had been confined to the house, having suffered a slight stroke of paralysis which impaired his speech, and he was obliged for some time to sit bolstered up in a chair in order to breathe freely. The doctor, who was past 82 years of age, had been in poor health for a year or more and his death was not unexpected. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1833 and graduated from the homeopathic medical college in Cincinnati, Ohio, being a member of the same class in which the late Dr. E.R. Ellis graduated and he was the last surviving member of the class. He came to Michigan and settled here soon after the close of the war and practiced medicine until old age and ill health compelled him to retire. Shortly after his marriage in Greenville he and his wife built the fine residence here which they have ever since occupied. He was a good physician and held diplomas from several institutions. Besides his wife he leaves one daughter Mrs. Avis Crame of Grand Rapids, one sister also survives him – Mrs. Spaulding of Grand Rapids. The funeral was held at the house Wednesday. Rev. A.J. Blair officiated and the remains were placed in the Otisco cemetery.
