The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, June 22, 1966
William Elmer Cowling, Sr., 85, died Wednesday morning in St. Louis.  He was 
born December 22, 1881, in Palo to Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Cowling.  

He is preceded in death by his wife.  Surviving are two sons, William Robert 
of Mt. Pleasant, and Oren Hively of Oregon, a daughter, Mable May of Oregon, 
and several grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Myers funeral home with burial in Oak 
Hill cemetery.
