(MCCAUL) COWLING 1957 - 2017 Janice I. (McCaul) Cowling, age 59, of Clarksville passed away peacefully at the Laurels of Kent in Lowell after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. Through out the journey Janice was always strong, never feeling sorry for herself, meeting the next challenge of chemo, radiation and multiple surgeries. Janice was born to Robert and June (Peircefield) McCaul onAug. 17, 1957. She was raised on a dairy farm and worked countless hours alongside her parents and siblings. She was a 1975 graduate from Lakewood High School. In 1977 she married Robert Cowling, together they had a daughter Desiree Marie Cowling. Janice worked at various jobs, Clarksville Elementary, Ludema Sod farm, provincial house, Cargo Heavy Duty in the Billing department, with her last employment being at Campbell Insurance Agency. In February 1995 Janice and Rob Potter were blessed with birth of a daughter Ceaira Rose Potter. Janice enjoyed wonderful times with her family, camping, bonfires, taking the daughters bowling every Sunday and how they loved their shopping. Janice spent many hours volunteering her time as a member of the 4H Club helping her daughter and Megan Brown show animals. She enjoyed volunteering at Lakewood Wrestling meets alongside her best friend Darcey Morrison at the concession stand. Janice was a devoted mom, grandmother and daughter, she assisted their father for many years faithfully caring for their mother. She loved the time she spent playing and cuddling her granddaughter Milah Jo whom she affectionately called "LoveBug". In July 2016, she enjoyed going on vacation with Desi, Lisa & Dave traveling to Mackinac, then to the U.P. Janice also loved to remind people that out of all the dozens of cousins she was the only one named after grandma Thelma Irene Catlin, She enjoyed her visit and pampering whiled at Laurels from her Aunt Pat and Wilma. Janice will be greatly missed by her father Robert McCaul, children Desiree and Ceaira, granddaughter Milah Jo, siblings David (Lisa) McCaul and Theresa (Kerry) McMillen, nieces Shelly (Joe) Severson, Leanne (Mike) Palmer, Andrea (Eric) Mantlo-Andreau, nephew Steffen (Lauren) Mantlo, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her mother June, and sister Pamela Richards. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Koops Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are planned for Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at the Clarksville Bible Church in Clarksville. Burial will take palace at the Clarksville Cemetery immediately following th funeral.
