The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 27, 1942

Mrs. Nellie Cox, 71, died Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the home of her 
son, Horace Cox, in Grand Rapids.  She had been in ill health for some time.

Born in New York state the daughter of Theodore and Mary Tupper-Angel, she 
moved to Pewamo with her parents when she was eight years old.  She later 
moved to St. Johns and then to a farm north of Ionia.  She was married to 
Thomas Cox in Ionia by Rev. W. H. Scott.

Surviving are the son, Horace, of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Miss Sarah Cox; 
three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Wright of Ionia, Mrs. Cora Dunlap of Ionia and Mrs. 
May Harper of Lyons; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Stone funeral home.  
Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
