Ionia Sentinel Standard – 13 January 1964
Mrs. Jessie Cox, 80 died Sunday at her home on route two where she had resided 
the past 50 years.  She had been ill the past month.  She was born September 
27, 1883 and was a lifelong member of First Christian church.  April 7, 1909 
she was married to Benjamin Cox who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard Sprague of Ionia and Mrs. 
Clark Garia of Royal Oak; three sons, Stuart Cox of Ypsilanti, and Gerald and 
Ross of Ionia; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 pm at Stone Kauffman funeral home with 
temporary entombment at Balcom cemetery.  Burial will be at Tuttle cemetery.  
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm Monday to receive 
friends.  Contributions will be accepted at the funeral home for a memorial 
fund to First Christian Church.
