No arrangements have been made for the funeral. Lake Odessa Wave-Times Thursday October 5, 1944 FUNERAL OF CHAS. COX HELD AT HIS HOME Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o'clock at the home in Lake Odessa for Charles E.Cox, 82, retired Michigan reformatory guard and former Odessa township farmer who died Thursday following a brief illness. The Rev. E.A. Shulls was in charge of the service, with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Born in Ohio, Mr Cox had resided inIonia county since a small boy spending his earlier years on an Odessa township farm. In 1922 he moved to Ionia when he accepted employment at the reformatory upon his retirement eight years ago he returned to lake Odessa. Surviving are the widow, Mrs Mary Haskins Cox, to whom he was wed 61 years ago; two sons, Martin, of Battle Creek, and Francis Technician attached to an ambulance corps in England; two daughters, Mrs Mabel Mason, Ionia and Mrs Maude Buxton, Lake Odessa; two brothers, William, Lake Odessa and Frank, Kirland, Wash, three sisters, Mrs Maggie Runyan, Lake Odessa, Mrs.Maude Brock and Mrs.Doris Spoon, Rockford, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
