Yrs. Mrs. John Cramer, mother of Mrs. Charles Haller who has lived with her daughter passed away March 31st. Mrs. Cramer was almost a life long Christian and very patient in all her suffering. [Unreadable words]… daughter and was often visited by friends, and the young people sang for her when for so long she could not get around on account of her affliction. Eva Mary Sindlingr was born in Wurtemberg, Germany, October 27, 1832. When she was eight years of age her mother died and she later, in the year 1854 with her younger brother came to America. They stayed in Burr Oak, Michigan for a time and then visited other parts of the state. On April 12, 1860 she was united in marriage to John Kramer. They came immediately to Woodland and settled on a farm where she spent the greater part of her life. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Chas. Haller of Lake Odessa. Mr. Kramer passed away in 1908. Thirteen years ago she came to visit her daughter and met with an accident, breaking her limb, from which she never recovered. Since that time she has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Haller where she has been tenderly and lovingly cared for these years. At the age of fourteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran church. All her life she has been a devoted Christian, growing old beautifully and sweetly and in spite of her affliction proving the truth of the text, “The hoary head is a crown of glory if found in the way of righteousness.” Her confirmation motto was chosen by herself for her funeral text, I Timothy 6:12. On the morning of March 31 she fell asleep in Jesus to awaken in a land where pain and suffering are unknown. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, who has been a true son to her, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to await that morning when the veil shall be removed and death forever past. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Haller on Thursday, Rev. Cramer, the pastor, preached and Rena Minier, Madge Wortley, and Wm. Chipchase and David Leak sang. Burial was at Lake Side. Those from away to attend the funeral were Mrs. Bopp and son, Mrs. Heck and baby, Miss Ida Kotz, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Croft, Mr. and Mrs. Will Kussmaul, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kussmaul, Mrs. Bauman, Mrs. John Sindlinger, Mrs. Mattie Seyfried, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Seyfried from Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Snyder of Grand Ledge, Mr. and Mrs. Strchle of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. John Metzgar of Easton, Mr. and Mrs. Schwab of Elmdale, Mrs. A.
