Eugene A. Crampton, 54, of 140 Higbee Street, Lyons, died Saturday at his
residence.  Born July 8, 1938, in Palo, he was the son of Gibson and Mable
Wright Crampton.  He was a graduate of Carson City High School and served in the
U.S. Navy.  He was a retired truck driver.  He was commander of the Lyons-Muir
VFW Post, No. 4646, and was a member of the Carson City American Legion Post.

Surviving are his wife, Jan Hines Crampton; a son, Gibson Crampton of Lowell;
three stepsons, Victor Toronjo of Arizona, Kevin Toronjo of Lyons, and Randy
Hines of Lyons.  Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Denise Hill of Ionia,
Diane Vrise of Maryland, and Dawn Hines of Ionia; 13 grandchildren; and two
sisters, Pat Studley and Joan Cooper, both of Hubbardston.  A brother and a
sister preceded him in death.

Military services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hull Memorial Chapel,
by Lyons-Muir VFW and Carson City American Legion.  Burial will be in Palo
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m.
