Ionia County News – Thursday 4 December 1924
Harrison Crane, 88, a highly respected pioneer resident of Orleans Township, 
passed away at his farm home, where he had resided for 22 years, last Friday 
evening, following a brief illness of neuralgia of the heart.  He had been 
married for a period of 62 years, more than six decades.

The funeral service was held from the late home on Monday afternoon, with Rev. 
Ellis of Belding in charge.  Burial was made at Green’s cemetery.

Had Mr. Crane lived until December 18, he would have been married 62 years.  
He was born on Halloween night, October 31, 1836, in New York State.  He came 
to Michigan with his wife in 1875 and located in Orleans Township, where he 
had lived since.  For 49 years he had lived in Ionia County.
