Crane, 71, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Fred Arnold, in South Ionia, Saturday morning, March 4. She had been ill since November, 1937. Death was caused by a stroke suffered early Friday evening, March 3. Deceased, whose maiden name was Mary Majinska, was born near Berlin, Germany, July 12, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Majinska. When she was about seven years old her parents emigrated to Michigan, settling on a farm in Odessa township, where they resided for many years. They moved to Ionia 30 years ago. On July 3, 1913, deceased was married to W.W. Crane of Ionia. Mr. Crane died in July, 1927. Besides her sister, Mrs. Arnold, Mrs. Crane leaves a sister, Mrs. Thos. Slowinski, three brothers, Joseph and John Majinska, Lake Odessa, and Raymond of Flint. Funeral service was held at nine o’clock Tuesday morning from the SS. Peter and Paul church, Rev. Henry A. Simon sang the requiem mass and burial was in the family lot in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Pall bearers were Daniel, Robert and Edward Slowinski and Leo Lehman.
