Belding Banner News, 17 Dec 1919

George Crane, of Greenville, a former resident of Cook’s Corners district was 
found dying in a potato car in Chicago, Saturday night, with his skull badly 
crushed.  Investigation revealed that he had stuck his head out of the car door, 
evidently to see where he was and was struck by a passing train.  The remains 
have been brought back to Greenville and the funeral is being held there on 
Thursday afternoon at one o’clock.  Burial will be in the cemetery at Cook’s 
Corners.
