Sept. 10, 2013 Greenville- Earl Crankshaw, 88, of Gowen, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Metron of Greenville. The son of L.J. and May (Melosh) Crankshaw, he was born on April 25, 1925, and was a farmer most of his life. In later years, he operated his own repair shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Hoyte Crankshaw and Gene Crankshaw; and three sisters, Zella Lindsey, Edna Orvis, and Ella Stanke. Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Laura Jewell, Evelyn and Dale Buffum and Jeanette and Jim Hulliberger, David Stanke of Coral, and Dawn and Nicholas Armock; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral care, 511 S. Franklin St., Greenville, where envelopes for memorial contributions will be available. Graveside committal services are at 11 a.m. on Thursday in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.
