The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, September 1990


Beulah Crankshaw of Ionia, formerly of Saranac, died September 23 at Lowell 
Medical Center.  She was born in Waterville on April 16, 1907, the daughter of 
Otis and Hattie Grummond Whitby.

She is survived by three sons, Clare Hewitt of Lowell, Donald Hewitt of 
Saranac, LaVern Hewitt of Woodland; one daughter Esther Wilson of Grand Ledge; 
six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.  One brother preceded her in 
death.  

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac, 
the Rev. James Frank officiating of Galilee Baptist Church.  Interment will be 
in Saranac Cemetery.
