Cranson, 84, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 27, 1925 the son of Paul and Mary (Parsons) Cranson. Bryce was a great Christian man who loved his family dearly especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed boating. Bryce was veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII as a Sergeant in the M.P. He was preceded in death by his grandsons Lonnie Joe Cranson and Eric Houghtalin; brother Everett Cranson and a sister Kathleen Root. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Patricia "Pat"; children Barbara (James) Sleight of Charlotte, Mary Riddle (Cliff Hengesbach) of Portland, Vicky Cranson of Grand Ledge and Edward (Caroline) Cranson of Harrison; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother Jack (Nan) Cranson of Milan; sister June (Hallie) Davis of Missouri. The Funeral Service was conducted by Pastor William Horton on Aug. 25 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment followed at Gresham Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #4090. A luncheon will follow burial services at the V. F.W.
