The Carson City Gazette, Thursday, May 15, 1941


Stephen Fred Cranson, son of Samuel F. and Phila A. Cranson, was born in Wayne 
county, Michigan April 25, 1859.  In early childhood he came to Gratiot county, 
Michigan.  November 23, 1884 he was united in marriage to Ada Hale and to this 
union were born Grant T. Cranson of Detroit, Berneice E. Kasper of Dearborn, 
Lillian L. Chick of Hubbardston and Laurence M. Cranson, who died November 28, 
1909.

In 1910 he moved to Hubbardston, Michigan where he resided until his death May 
7, 1941.

His surviving relatives, besides his three children and wife, are two sisters, 
Mrs. Jeanette Webber and Mrs. Berneice Townsend of Berrien Springs, Mich., five 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
