The Ionia Standard, Friday, August 18, 1886

Mrs. David Crapo died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Shafer, in Odessa, on 
the 4th inst.  She had been very feeble for several weeks, owing mostly, 
perhaps, to old age, when death came to her relief on the above date.  Mrs. 
Crapo and her husband were among the first settlers of Odessa, and many are 
they who are indebted to them for the kind hospitality shown them during the 
early settlement of the country.
