The Portland Observer, Thursday, March 19, 1914
Mrs. Alice Crapo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Sandborn Sr., of Portland, 
died at Ionia Wednesday afternoon of pneumonia, following a very brief 
illness.  Her mother and brother, L. W. Sandborn, the latter of Sebewa, were 
with her when she breathed her last.  The husband and four children survive.  
Funeral services will be held at Ionia Saturday but the hour had not been 
decided upon when the Observer’s forms closed.  The body will be interred in 
Portland.  Mrs. Crapo resided in Sebewa township for many years, and her death 
will be a keen shock to residents of that section.
