Craven, 81, of Ionia passed away Sept. 25, 2001 at Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia. He was born April 26, 1920 in Durand, the son of Frank and Margaret Rae (Shaw) Craven. He went on to marry Ruth Grant Oct. 27, 1943 in Lansing. Jack was employed by the Consumers Power for 35 years as a meter technician. He was very active in past years with the Ionia Little League and the National Rifle Association Junior Division. He also attended Shiloh Community Church. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth of almost 58 years; sons; Kenneth Lynn (Marilyn) Craven of Midland and Keith M. (Jane) Craven of Wyoming; brothers, Frank (Elaine) Craven of Charlotte and Donald (Verna Jean) Craven of Lake; grandchildren, Brent (Jo Ellen) Craven of Hastings, Jeffery (Jennifer) Craven of Wayland, Lynne (Andrew) Brandt of Midland, Annette (Jason) McBride of Wyoming, and Jack M. Craven of Wyoming; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris Jean. Funeral services for Mr. Craven will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Shiloh Community Church.
